Pure Genius!

First of all, I must apologize for the bad (dark) quality of this photo. I had my camera set to take outdoor photos and didn't re-adjust before snapping this one indoors.

As we all know, my son is the most amazing child to walk the earth. He's the cutest, he's the wittiest, he's the smartest... really just amazing in every way!

Now, I'm beginning to think that he goes beyond just being the smartest... I think he might actually be a genius!! :)

Look at this kid stack blocks! They are taller than him!!

With each block, Andie and I would say "no way...he's not gonna get this one on there". But each time, he'd use his ever-so-delicate touch (while Andie and I held our breath) and we'd watch the tower very slowly sway back and forth until it finally came to a stop. Applause would erupt from the crowd!

It was pretty magical to watch. :)

This photo also makes me laugh because this is what I came home to on Sunday after being out of town for Anna's bachelorette party. That's right, it was the middle of the day on Sunday, Luke was still in pjs, toys were scattered all over the house, and Andie had inflated a blow up mattress in the middle of the living room so that he and Luke could jump around and have fun.

Ah, I love those two!! What fun boys I get to live with!

Craft Table

Luke's "big" Christmas present this year was a craft table. He's a huge fan of coloring, so he was really in need of a surface that he could use to be creative and express himself (without giving me a heart attack that markers and crayons were gonna get all over our furniture).

So, Andie and I decided to put our heads together and make a table for him. We both searched the internet far and wide to find examples of tables that we liked. Andie purchased the wood and I drew out the pattern for our fun project! Andie created the first prototype, suggested a few design changes, and I re-drew the base of the table (version 2 looked much better!). Andie built prototype #2 (which was a winner), so I proceeded to paint, monogram, and clear coat our final product.

Team work at its best!

I must take a moment to brag on my husband... he is such an amazing builder!! He has made SO many awesome things in our house - picture frames, changing table, headboard, computer desk - just to name a few!

He really needs to start a side business as a woodworker. I was telling him that we need to start pumping out these craft tables as our first item for sale. Once upon a time I created a blog/website for his future woodworking business - I just haven't updated it in forever! It showcases some of the previous projects that he's created. If anyone has any woodworking needs - you just let me know! :)

He just finished making a bookshelf for Luke's room - so whenever I get that thing painted, I'll post pics of it.
