Bicyckers & Mawmowers

These are both regular topics of conversation at our house. Bicyckers (bicycles), mawmowers (lawnmowers), airpanes (airplanes), fi-ah crucks (firetrucks), and fun-ah (thunder).

Here are a few anecdotes:

--- 1 ---

Every time the ice maker drops ice into the bin in the freezer, Luke gasps and exclaims "fun-ah!!".

me: "No, sweet boy, that's not thunder... it's just the ice maker."

This conversation happens at least ten times every day.

--- 2 ---

In the car on the way to school in the morning...

Luke: "Mommy... fi-ah cruck!!"

Me: "No buddy, that's just a regular truck. Fire trucks are red and they have hoses and ladders on them."

(a few minutes pass)

Luke: "Mommy... fi-ah cruck!!" (he points to a pick-up truck with a bunch of ladders in the back)

I love this kid, I think to myself.

This next little conversation happened right in the middle of story time. As I turn the page in "feesh book" (One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish)...

Luke: "Mommy, owie?"

me: "oh, you want to see the owie on my hand where I scratched it?" (I showed him this "owie" days ago... I'm surprised he even thought about it).

I show him the little bitty scratch and he proceeds to v-e-r-y gently stroke the wound during the next few pages of the book.

Then he turns to me and says "Mommy, tiss owie?".

me: "oh, you want to kiss it? How sweet you are!"

(he puckers up and gives my "owie" the most gentle little kiss)

Luke: "all bettah, mommy"

Then he just glances up at me and gives me the sweetest smile. I'm telling you - this boy is made of pure sugar!

Other noteworthy items from this week... during dinner last night he used a cup. Not a sippy cup... a regular cup! And he did GREAT with it!! He uses a regular (non-sippy) cup at school a lot in his new class - I'm so impressed with his skills!

Also, he has two stickers on the potty chart at school for going pee pee in the potty TWICE at school this week!! What a big boy!! So proud!
